Thor completed his Commercial Pilot License, Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating and Flight Instructor Rating at the Cessnock campus. He then worked as an instructor in WA before becoming a Chart Pilot and then Chief Pilot of Broome Air Services. The joined REX as a First Officer and was promoted to Captain, before moving to a bigger jet as a First Officer with Jetstar.
