Compulsory General Elective Units
The packaging rules for the qualification requires students to complete the 12 core units plus 5 electives. For students that are not getting any Recognition of Prior Learning, the following Units of Competency are compulsory.
The rationale for the College choosing to make these units are compulsory are;
- Risk management and simulator / synthetic trainer skills are core for even a new flight instructor. The absence of these skills could either compromise employability, or leave the graduate unprepared for their first job.
- The course is typically run with very small student numbers, often just 2 students in a cohort. The College is not resourced to give options to students in a small cohort.
The following Units of Competency are part of the qualification. However, the College is not resourced for the delivery of these units and therefore students are not permitted to choose from them.
