Stuart graduated from Basair (Cessnock Campus) with a Certificate IV in Aviation, Diploma of Aviation and Advanced Diploma of Aviation (Flight Instruction) and became an instructor. He was promoted several times, and became the Team Leader at the Cessnock Campus, and also focused on teaching Multi-Engine Command Instrument Rating. His first charter role was with West Wing Aviation. He then moved to Jetstar where he is a Captain.
