After graduating, Mark worked as an instructor with Basair Aviation College, before being a pilot and then General Manager of Australia by Air, flying a Cheiftain. He then went to Regional Express (REX) and then Alliance, where he become Captain and Human Factors & Non Technical Skills Co-ordinator. He then moved to Hong Kong to fly the G550 with MetroJet and became their Manager of Standards. He returned to Australia to become the General Manager of Flight Operations at Alliance Airlines.
