Malaysian Alumni of Basair Aviation College

Naqib completed their Commercial Pilot Licence in Australia before returning to Malaysia for their Multi Engine Instrument Rating. They then got a job as a First Officer with Air Asia.

After graduating with a CPL, Scott enrolled in Basair's Flight Instructor Rating and then worked as an Instructor for two years. He then returned to Malaysia where he flew with Air Asia on the A320. He is now a Senior First Officer on the A380 with Emirates.

“I chose Basair because of its great reputation - before I joined I knew several alumni with airlines. The training standard at Basair is excellent, and I know it will help me get a job in an airline in the future. I plan to join an Australian airline in the future."

Christopher graduated from Basair Aviation College and commenced his piloting career with Air Asia. He has progressed and is now a Captain with the airline.

Henry graduated with a Commercial Pilot Licence and Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating before returning to Malaysia. He got a job as a First Officer with Air Asia. While working as a pilot for Air Asia he also became one of their CRM facilitators. He then joined Hong Kong Airlines as a Senior First Officer.

Azri completed their flight training at Basair Aviation College, and started his piloting career as a First Officer with Air Asia. He then moved to Hong Kong with HK Express, before going to Cathay Pacific.

Gurmesh gradated with a Certificate IV in Aviation and a Diploma of Aviation before getting a job with Air Asia in Malaysia. He is now a Captain with Etihad Airways.

Clifford graduated from Basair Aviation College and then commenced flying with Air Asia.

After graduating from our Hunter Valley campus, Mahesh started flying with Air Asia before moving to Firefly Airlines.

Chi Voon graduated with a Certificate IV in Aviation and a Diploma of Aviation. He is now a First Officer at Air Asia.

Captain Hafiz completed his Commercial Pilot Licence at Basair, and then joined Air Asia as a First Officer.  He is now a Captain.

Kah graduated with a Certificate IV in Aviation and originally joined Air Asia in Malaysia in an Airbus A320. Since then, he has moved to Hong Kong Airlines and is now a Captain on the Airbus A330.

Mithran graduated with a Certificate IV in Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence) and commenced his aviation career as a Second Officer with AirAsia.

After Nazneem completed her fixed wing CPL with a Certificate IV in Aviation she then qualified as a helicopter pilot. She started her aviation career flying the S76C++/ EC225 to off-shore oil rigs and oil platforms with Awan Inspiran. She then moved to Hevilift, still in the S76C++ before going to Sazma Aviation to fly the AW139.

“I chose to go to Australia to fly because I wanted to get the experience of flying in a different country. I felt that the quality of flying and training in Australia was excellent. There was a good balance of practical and theoretical training. I’m glad that I chose and got the experience to fly in Sydney. It was always so beautiful.”

Dennis graduated with a Certificate IV in Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence) and a Diploma of Aviation  and then worked as a flight instructor in Malaysia for a couple of years.  He then became a First Officer with Air Asia and is now a Captain.

"I chose Basair Aviation College because I wanted a more challenging flying experience; one that would make me a better pilot and improve my chances of getting a job. I certainly have no regrets joining Basair as I learned far more than I bargained for - and the school taught me so much knowledge. I guarantee I wouldn’t have got that level of training in a local school here in Malaysia.”

Razif graduated with a Certificate IV in Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence) and then returned to Malaysia to convert his licence.  He worked as an instructor for a while, before starting at Air Asia as a First Officer.  He has since been promoted to Captain.

“Flying in Australia is great for developing your piloting skills. You can experience maximum crosswinds, and fly in different weather and seasons. All of this has made me a much better
pilot. Basair was a great place to study, and it has a lot of aircraft. This meant that I could book the aircraft whenever I wanted to fly. I finished my command hours in a short period of time, so I graduated quickly. Students progress at Basair a lot faster than they progress at Malaysian flying schools.”

After Nizam completed his studies at Basair, he returned to Malaysia to convert his licence. He then commenced as a First Officer at Malaysia Airlines flying the Boeing 737-800.

Faeez graduated with a Certificate IV in Aviation and a Diploma of Aviation and is now the First Officer in a Gulfstream IV with His Majesty The Sultan of Johor's Royal Fleet.

Scott completed his CPL and ME CIR at Basair before returning to Malaysia to convert his licence. He commenced as a First Officer on the Airbus A320 with Air Asia, and over the years has progressed and is now a Captain.

Sivamurthy graduated with a Certificate IV in Aviation and a Diploma of Aviation and joined Air Asia in Malaysia initially as a First Officer on the Airbus A320. He then became Senior First Officer on the A330 & 340 before becoming a Captain on the A320. He has since returned to the A330 as Captain.

Azlan graduate with a Certificate IV in Aviation. He then commenced his piloting career flying as a First Officer on the Learjet 35A with AeroTree Defence.
