January 2010 - Bankstown

This page is dedicated to giving updates on the progress of students in Course 159, which started in Bankstown in early January 2010.  This page will track key achievements such as first solos, flight tests, theory and fly-aways.  Also, key dates for the class are included at the bottom of the page.

Latest Update! - August 2010

Ram and Mohammad have flown the most this month, with 23 hours each.

Update - July 2010

Congratulations to Michael for passing his PPL Flight Test.

Manoj logged the most hours in July, with 26 hours flown.

Ram logged the most hours in June, with 26 hours flown.

Update - May 2010

Congruatulations to everybody for passing the PPL Theory Exam.  Michael had the highest score with 93%.

Congratulations to Abhishek and Macken for passing their GFPT Flight Tests this month.

The weather in May was not good, and everybody's hours were down.  But Macken flew the most with 19 hours.

Update - April 2010

Congratulations to Manoj, Michael and Josh for all passing their GFPT Flight Tests this month.  Now they will commence on their Navigation flights, with the first flight to either Goulburn or Cessnock.  Enjoy it!

The course is running to schedule very well, with most students scheduled to take their GFPT flight test this month. 

Update - March 2010

Congratulations to Michael, Mohammad, Manoj and Abhisheik for all going First Solo this month. Michael did it in 9.3 hours and Manoj in 16.6 hours.

Also, everybody in the class passed their BAK exam this month.  Michael, Josh and Manaoj all scored 100% in the exam. 

Manoj flew the most this month, with 14 hours dual and 8 hours solo totaling 22 hours.

Everyone's target for the month of April should be to get up to their GFPT Pre-Licence.

Update - February 2010

Congratulations to Josh and Karan for going First Solo this month.  Josh took 19.9 hours and Karan took 17.4 hours to go First Solo.  Also congratulations to everyone in the class for passing the Pre-Solo exam, especially to Michael and Manoj who both high-scored with 90%.  Good luck to the rest of you scheduled to go First Solo in early March.

Karan flew the most this month, with 18 hours of flying.

Update - January 2010

Welcome to all the new students who have started on the 18th January 2010.  Your course co-ordinator is Peter Fterniatis, and he should be your first reference point for any queiries.

During the first seven weeks, you will commence each morning with a 1 hours briefing with your instructor.  You will also have a 3 hours BAK lecture each weekday, and have a scheduled flight each weekday (subject to weather.)

Michael flew the most in the first two weeks of the course, accumulating 9 hours of flying in the training area and in the circuit.
