This qualification is part of the Aviation Training Package.

This course is targeted to students who have completed their CPL, and want to improve their employability with a multi engine command instrument rating (ME CIR.)

International students may be eligible for a student visa for this course. CRICOS course code 089858C.

This option of the Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Rating) is designed for students who already hold a Commercial Pilot Licence.

The course is designed to prepare students for their first job in aviation; either as a Charter Pilot or a First Officer in an airline.

Local students enrolled in either course may be eligible for VET FEE HELP funding.
Overseas students enrolled in the course may be eligible for a student visa.

This course lasts for 20 weeks.
At the end of the course, successful students will be awarded a Diploma of Aviation, and will qualify for a CASA ME CIR assessment.

It is a full time course with compulsory attendance from Monday to Friday, and there are no scheduled holidays during the course. Extra attendance may be required, depending on weather.

This course is designed for students that already hold a CPL.

The Pre-Requisites for the course are;

  • Students must hold a current Australian CPL
  • Unless secondary school has been conducted in English, an IELTS score of 6.5.
  • Class 1 Medical
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Education to at least Year 12, or a Certificate IV or higher
